How to celebrate life? With Kodiak dinner cruises…

Dinner cruises last about 3.5 hours and you’re special guests of hosts Marion and Marty Owen on the Sea Breeze, a classic 42-foot yacht.  After leaving the dock, Marty

navigates around scenic islands and passages. While nibbling on tasty appetizers, you’ll notice many opportunities to bring back beautiful pictures. Marion is a professional photographer and is happy to help you get great photos.

Marty knows a lot about the ocean. Formerly the harbormaster for Kodiak, his roots go back to the 1930’s when his family settled on Kodiak Island–which means he has fun stories to tell.

What’s for dinner?

Marion’s galley: A great view for doing dishes!

For a special restaurant experience, our Kodiak dinner cruises are casual yet special events. With a maximum of six guests, you’ll enjoy the intimate atmosphere and personal attention. Whether you are a party of 1, 2, 4 or 6, our goal is to provide a fine dining experience in a beautiful setting.

How did we get started doing dinner cruises?

That’s a story in itself: Following the catastrophe of 9/11, local French chef Joel Chenet organized a fundraiser dinner and auction for the surviving families of restaurant staff that perished when the World Trade Center towers fell. One of the auction items was a gourmet meal aboard our boat. “You provide the boat, and I’ll bring the dinner,” said Joel.

The dinner cruise was a big success. When they returned to the dock, Joel looked at Marty and said, “Marion likes to cook, right? You guys should offer dinner cruises on your boat.” Well, the rest is history…
