Galley Gourmet Dinner Cruises
Galley Gourmet’s combination wildlife viewing and Kodiak dinner cruises is an experience that has become a highlight event for Kodiak visitors and locals alike. In fact, they are one of the most popular ways to experience Kodiak. Read our reviews on TripAdvisor.
Kodiak is home to sea lions, puffins, sea otters, beautiful wildflowers and whales. Every stretch of water and shoreline is a treat to the senses.
“No trip to Kodiak Island is complete without a Galley Gourmet dinner cruise!”

How to celebrate life? With Kodiak dinner cruises…
Dinner cruises last about 3.5 hours and you’re special guests of hosts Marion and Marty Owen on the Sea Breeze, a classic 42-foot yacht. After leaving the dock, Marty
navigates around scenic islands and passages. While nibbling on tasty appetizers, you’ll notice many opportunities to bring back beautiful pictures. Marion is a professional photographer and is happy to help you get great photos.
Marty knows a lot about the ocean. Formerly the harbormaster for Kodiak, his roots go back to the 1930’s when his family settled on Kodiak Island–which means he has fun stories to tell.
What’s for dinner?
Kodiak is home to world-class seafood and the ocean air gives you a healthy appetite. From local seafood and
fresh, organic salad greens (Marion is a master gardener and co-author of the New York Times bestseller, Chicken Soup for the Gardener’s Soul) to the scrumptious dessert, you’ll discover why it’s called “Galley Gourmet, a feast underway!” So while we like to feature local fare, we’re also happy to serve non-seafood dishes and work with guests who might have special dietary needs or restrictions. Just let us know.

What makes Galley Gourmet dinner cruises so special?
For a special restaurant experience, our Kodiak dinner cruises are casual yet special events. With a maximum of six guests, you’ll enjoy the intimate atmosphere and personal attention. Whether you are a party of 1, 2, 4 or 6, our goal is to provide a fine dining experience in a beautiful setting.
How did we get started doing dinner cruises?
That’s a story in itself: Following the catastrophe of 9/11, local French chef Joel Chenet organized a fundraiser dinner and auction for the surviving families of restaurant staff that perished when the World Trade Center towers fell. One of the auction items was a gourmet meal aboard our boat. “You provide the boat, and I’ll bring the dinner,” said Joel.
The dinner cruise was a big success. When they returned to the dock, Joel looked at Marty and said, “Marion likes to cook, right? You guys should offer dinner cruises on your boat.” Well, the rest is history…
